Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
1. Controller
The controller of your data is Tanguy Lecoutere (contact@crowdchoice.io).
2. Data we collect
Account: your email address and your password (stored encrypted, we never see it).
Profile: your username and, if you add one, your profile photo.
Content: your dilemmas (question, photos, labels, category), your votes, your reports and the accounts you block.
On your phone: your login session and your preferred language. The app does not collect your location or contacts, and uses no advertising or ad trackers.
Voting without an account on the crowdchoice.io website: your choice, a random identifier kept in your browser (so each device counts only once) and a fingerprint of your IP address (never the address itself), used only to block abuse.
3. Why
To run the service (account, posting, votes, results): this is necessary to perform the terms of use.
To protect the community (photo analysis, reports, blocks): this is our legitimate interest and an app store requirement.
To automatically translate dilemmas for members who speak another language.
4. Who can access it
Other members see your username, profile photo and dilemmas. They never see your email or who voted for what.
Our service providers, only to run the service: Supabase (hosting and database, servers in Ireland, European Union); DeepL SE (translation of dilemma texts, Germany); Resend (sending account emails, servers in Ireland); Cloudflare Turnstile (bot check on the website, when enabled); Google Cloud Vision (photo analysis when posting, when enabled; Google may process data outside the European Union with the safeguards required by the GDPR).
We never sell your data.
5. How long
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. If you delete it, your profile, dilemmas, photos, votes, reports and blocks are permanently and immediately erased.
Votes cast without an account are kept as long as the dilemma exists, and are never linked to your identity.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or erase your data, or object to its processing. Deletion is done directly in Settings > Delete my account; for anything else, email us at contact@crowdchoice.io. We reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.
7. Minors
CrowdChoice is for people aged 15 and over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, it is deleted.
8. Security and changes
Exchanges between the app and our servers are encrypted, and each member can only modify their own data.
This policy may change; if there is a significant change, we will let you know in the app.
